When we talk about the warehousing demand, E-commerce companies and 3PL are the important drivers which pull the warehousing sector towards growth and it minimises the transportation cost and deliver within the timeline.
As e-commerce companies are focussed on same day delivery post COVID-19 followed by a lockdown globally placing greater dependency on E-commerce sites for food and groceries. Generally, in today’s time warehouses are outlying from the customer base. Over the next few months’ warehouses will be shifted as a distribution hub. As on the day to day rise the demands are rising as ecommerce has made the customers life easy by delivering as the door step due to which there are the high demand of inventory warehouses where the ecommerce company can be close to the customer’s location and increase the efficiency & improve the quality of products upon delivery.
E-commerce is booming in India before the lockdown as majorly the companies are switching from offline markets to online markets but due to the lockdown and closure of malls have accelerated the growth.
While the adoption of a new model of warehousing brings in multiple benefits, companies will face challenges in finding the right place and the cost of warehousing in the city but there will be major challenges as well while shifting the warehouses like plot frontage and taking care of the ways of moving the cargo vehicle within the cities.
